This is a negative term that describe wines as being diluted and watery. It lacks bouquet and body in the wine.

Tired

A negative term used to describe an old wine that has passed their prime taste.  

Stemmy

This is a negative term that describes the wine as extremely green and excessive the herbal flavor.    

Stalky

This is a negative term used for wines that tastes like vegetables usually caused by the wine having an extensive contact with the stems.    

Stale

This is a negative term used for wines that are heavy on oxidization and have low levels of acid. It has a very dull flavor.    

Sharp

This is a negative term describing the wine as bitter and nasty with a biting sense of extreme acidity.    

Unbalanced

This is a wine that has elements that are excessive and some elements may be overpowered by those with excessive amounts. It is a negative term used to describe the wine because of weakness of the balance.    

Harsh

Harsh wines have high amounts of alcohol and the flavors are very sharp due to the rough tannins. Harsh wines are often aged in order for the wine to mellow. This is a negative trait to have in a wine.
